Sundays at Home No. 17 | Planning the Perfect Summer Soirée

Welcome to week seventeen of Sundays at Home! I created another fun round up from last week's link-ups (I am a bit obsessed with these can you tell?). Since it is "officially" summer, I put together lots of great features for planning the perfect summer soirée!

Before getting to the features here is what I shared last week:
I did a "blog rewind" sharing a vintage-inspired patriotic vignette I created back in 2009 to inspire you for the upcoming 4th of July holiday.

And now on to this week's round up!

Planning the Perfect Summer Soiree
There's nothing better than getting together with family and friends in the warm summer months. So if you are planning an event, here are some tips and recipes to get you inspired!

1. Fun Decor
Adding some fun touches like these summertime pillows and bright and colorful dishes are perfect for an inviting outdoor get together. Visit Southern Seazons to see more inspiration from her decorated porch.
If you like a rustic touch, try making your own fabric napkins from vintage material.
I love the idea of using these pieces of ticking, available from Distressed Donna, at a farmhouse style dinner party. You could even tie them up in a fun fabric, as she has done, to make quick napkin holders! I can imagine some red bandana fabric for the 4th of July, how about you?

2. Easy Appetizer
It's always great to offer your guests some starters while they wait for the main course. This Mexican Hummus, from Lambert's Lately, looks delicious and would be great paired with some pita or tortilla chips.

3. Thirst Quenchers
Guests will, of course, need something to quench their thirst in the summer heat, so why not make up some homemade lemonade or ice tea to serve in a great pitcher like this one, available from Hogg Barn Antiques?

4. Fresh from the Garden Main Course
Guests will be wowed when you offer a main dish with vegetables fresh from the garden. This Stuffed Baked Zuchini from A Stroll Thru Life would be perfect for such an occasion.

5. Delicious Desserts
No soirée would be complete without some delicious desserts! This Fruit Pizza from Little House Living would surely be a hit at any get together.

As would this Cherry Clafoutis from Natasha in Oz:
And who wouldn't want to take a bite into this Strawberry Icebox cake from Tumbleweed Contessa? Yum!
You could finish the night off around a cozy fire pit enjoying some of this Guilt-Free Mango Banana Faux Icecream from Boogieboard Cottage:
I hope you enjoyed this summer soirée inspiration and will take some time to visit each of the features! Let them know Thoughts from Alice sent you their way!
