Protecting Little Feet and My Floors {with Eco Friendly Rug Pads}

I have partnered with Rug Pad Corner for this post. All opinions are my own.

In the past several months, I have acquired a couple of new rugs for our home, including a brand new shag rug and a vintage kilim rug. Our house has laminate flooring downstairs and painted pine flooring upstairs, so rugs are a must, especially with two little ones. Since we have a rug in every room, and young children who love to run around, I knew that I should eventually get pads to keep the rugs in place. But which ones?

Back in the day, I used to nanny for a family with two small children. I would also do household chores for them, like vacuuming the hardwood floors and rugs. There was one of those thin, plastic pads under every rug, which always stuck to the floor. And while the pads stuck to the floor, the rugs always slipped anyways. I hated moving those rug pads and rugs and then getting them lined up again just right. Ugh.

So, I kind of made an internal decision back then to just say no to rug pads. What a nuisance they were! That was, until, I discovered Rug Pad Corner and their eco-friendly options. I was highly impressed with their website and process for making rug pads - no chemicals or toxins! They were also described as non-slip, without sticking to the floors. I had never heard of anything like it before.

I chose four rug pads for our home: one 8x10, for the kilim rug that is now in the playroom, one 6x9, for the living room rug, one 5x7, for my favorite little yellow rug (which you can see here, but I am still deciding on a new home for it), and one smaller pad, for a hooked rug that I have in the kitchen. After looking through all of the options, I went with the Ultra Premium pads, since they were non-slip and cushioned. Who doesn't like a little extra softness under your feet, right?
Our kilim rug came from the flea market, and while it looks cool, it does not offer anything in the way of comfort. Very low pile. When I put the new rug pad underneath, I couldn't believe how much it was improved. My kids loved it and immediately wanted to run around on it.
The rug, in the living room, from Rugs USA was already very soft, but adding the rug pad brought it up a notch for even more comfort.
I am not even exaggerating when I say the new rug and rug pad make me love my living room even more now!
I love that it is extra cozy for these little toes.
And because my children love running between these two rooms, the non-slip factor made these rug pads a no-brainer.
Now I don't have to be worried about the rugs sliding while my little ones do their nightly ritual of running back and forth. (Wish I had that kind of energy in the evening. Sigh.)

The one in the kitchen is great too, because now when I am working on dishes or what not, my feet feel comfortable while standing over the sink. It really is little things like that, that make mundane chores more bearable. (Have I ever told you how much I loath dishes? Even with a dishwasher. Yup, hate it.) Anyways...the rug pad helps me hate it just a little bit less. That counts for a lot in my book.

The customer service that I received from the folks at Rug Pad Corner was phenomenal. They answered my questions and concerns about the rug pads quickly and shipped them to me within just a few days.

If you visit the website, you will also see that Rug Pad Corner really cares about the customer and giving back to the community. Plus they are made in the USA! Companies like that are hard to find in this day and age.

If you are in the market for some new rug pads, not only will they custom cut them to your size, they have offered you 15% off by using the coupon code REVIEW15 anytime you need a rug pad!

I am definitely loving these new rug pads and think you will be too if you decide to shop at Rug Pad Corner!

Till next time...
