When Your Child is in Pain

There is almost nothing worse as a parent than watching your child endure pain. I always want to take it from them.

Let me take the pain instead, Lord. That is my prayer whenever one of my little ones is hurt or not feeling well.

Simple Banana Bread {without baking soda}

This simple recipe for banana bread without baking soda is one of my post popular posts on this blog!  After you check it out and learn how to make yourself some yummy banana bread even when you don't have baking soda, I hope you will check out some of my other posts including diy tutorials, home decor and ramblings about my lift with little ones…
You know when you start making something, only to realize you are missing one of the ingredients?

This happens to me, well…..a lot more than I would like to admit.

Cabin Dreaming & Summer Wishes

Lately I have had a serious case of cabin fever.

Not the kind where I have been stuck inside.

I have been getting out plenty.

Sundays at Home No. 11 and Happy Mother’s Day

Welcome to week eleven of Sundays at Home and Happy Mother's Day. I am starting this week's link party off on a somber note…

I am thankful that I have the opportunity to spend the day with my husband and two little ones. This week has been filled with lots of extra hugs, kisses and quality time, after learning of the tragic death of three year old Ryan, son of Jacqui from Baby Boy Bakery. I am heartbroken for his family and have been lifting them up in prayer constantly. I hope that you will pray also, especially for his mom on this day that I can only imagine will be unbearably painful, only one week after losing her precious little boy. Here are some pictures of their beautiful family and beloved Ryan.
Many people will be releasing red balloons in his honor this Mother's Day, and I hope to as well. Donations are also being raised for the family on Thrive Moms and GoFundMe if you would like to contribute.

Owen’s First Birthday: A Football Party {a look back}

My little man, Owen, turned one on September 26, 2013. I never got around to sharing a birthday post back then, but decided with the draft coming this week, I would share it now! If you aren't up on the NFL draft, well let me tell you…it is a very big deal. At least in my house it is 🙂

Rustic Romantic Vignettes {a look back}

Not a lot of words today. I thought I would share some simple rustic and romantic vignettes with glimpses of my decor from the past few years. These are just random shots of things I find pretty. I hope you enjoy them.

Life Out Here {Enjoying the Pleasures of a Simple Country Life}

For many years, I dreamed of living in Manhattan. I felt such a pull inside of me to be there after I visited it the first time, and every time thereafter. I looked into going to NYU for a Master's degree in Art Therapy. I have a BA in Psychology and always wanted to work with children in a therapeutic setting.

It's such a cliché, I know, but I imagined my tiny apartment, a cool job, riding on the subway, walks in central park, and being surrounded by an energy that can be found nowhere else on earth.
