Copper + Gold Boho Thanksgiving Table Ideas

Thanksgiving is coming fast! Even though we are expecting our third baby any time now, there is still a chance we might host Thanksgiving dinner here. It would be potluck and my husband would cook the turkey, so that I can simply focus on our new baby…and making the house pretty for our guests. 

The creativity involved with that actually excites me no matter what is going on. I'm planning now how I want to do up the table should we decide to have our family here. This is what I came up with…my ideal version I suppose you could say.

Trick-or-Treat Halloween Mantel

Happy Halloween! My kids are so excited to dress up today as a pink fairy and Iron Man for their school costume parade and then head out trick-or-treating this evening. I hope I can keep up with them! I'm 38 weeks along now, just waiting on Baby Girl to make her appearance. 

A few weeks ago, I finally got the "Halloween decorating bug" and did up our dining room mantel. Hazel and Owen had fun helping me and making their own decorations too.

Mainly, I used items we already had, decorations from previous years, and some crafts we worked on together. The only new purchases were all of the pumpkins and gourds.

Simple Fall Mantel: Minimalist & Natural

This year, I decided to go fairly simple with my fall mantel decor. The walls and salvaged mantel are both white, so I wanted to bring in a bit of deep seasonal colors and natural elements to welcome autumn into our dining room.

Fall is finally here! After the hottest summer I can remember, I am thrilled that cooler weather has arrived in my neck of the woods. The leaves are changing, we've actually had rain after one of the driest seasons, and the humidity is finally gone. I love this time of year!
Decorating for this season is one of my favorite things to do, and I love being inspired by the cozy fall homes of others. I've gathered together some of my personal favorites from my own blog and from fellow bloggers, each with their own unique style and take on autumn decor.

Refreshing Our Home for Fall

It's almost officially fall! And thus begins my favorite time of year. I can't get enough of this season. I always wish it could last just a little bit longer. My full fall home tour will be coming at the end of this month, but today I am excited to share how I have refreshed our home this season with some new furniture and accent pieces from Raymour & Flanigan. Rustic Bohemian Thanksgiving Tablescape

With Thanksgiving quickly approaching and devastating events taking place around the world, I have been spending a lot of time reflecting on all that I have to be grateful for. And there is so much. It is easy to get caught up in all of the "wish I had's" or "if only's" and lose sight of the blessings right in front of us. The beautiful real life I have right now. My little family, our health and the love we share.

That is what I plan to do this Thanksgiving:

See all of the big and little blessings in the here and now.

One blessing I had this past year, was the ability to give my dining room a mini redo thanks to the good folks at Raymour & Flanigan. If you have followed me for awhile, you may have seen my dining room before that only ever had thrift store and vintage finds.

That worked for awhile, but those pieces had definitely seen better days. I was really feeling it was time for some big changes furniture wise, which is when Josh and I headed out to see if we might find a brand new table that fit our style.

Creating a Personal & Cozy Home for Fall

Fall is in all its glory here in Western New York right now. My favorite time of year! The leaves are reaching their peak colors and just enough of them are falling off for the kids to jump and play. I shared my fall home tour last month, but today, I wanted to share with you how I strive to make this season personal and cozy for my family. Even just as a hint of this season is in the air, my whole spirit is lifted in a way I can't describe in words. I become alive all over again…my senses are awakened and my focus shifts to what matters most…enjoying every minute of this fleeting time.

Swap It Like It’s Hot #4 {easy thrift store upcycles}

Do you ever feel like creativity is seriously lacking in your brain? Mine has been dormant for like…awhile. Not sure what happened these past few months. The role of mom is turning it into Swiss cheese or something. But when Charlotte of Ciburbanity invited me to join in for #SwapItLikeItsHot round four I said yes anyway! I love these challenges where bloggers send each other inexpensive thrift store finds to get made over.

Unfortunately, even getting some awesome thrifted goods from Bee of Windgate Lane did not kick my brain into gear. I have mulled over it ever since the items arrives, wondering what to do with the cool finds sent to me and the only thing I REALLY wanted to do with them, was leave them as is. But I know…I know…that would not make for good thrift store upcycling inspiration would it?

Let's get started…my husband and our two small children live in a tiny town just outside of Rochester, NY. The weather has been all over the place here lately, but just started to feel like fall. This is definitely my favorite time of year.

Sundays at Home will Return Next Week!

Life sure does get busy once summer is over! I know that most of you are popping in right now to link up to our Sundays at Home link party, but due to lots going on for both of us and myself being under the weather, Susan and I are postponing the party until next week. We apologize from the bottom of our hearts for any inconvenience, and hope you will understand!

My sweet little Hazel started Pre-K last week (insert crying face here!). It was a huge change, but honestly, it has been a wonderful one for all of us.

Oh, hello fall {free printable}

Fall is is pretty much here in my book (except for the extremely hot weather we are experiencing right now in Western New York), so, for me, it's time to start bringing the warmth and beauty of autumn all throughout my home. Today, I am excited to usher in fall with several other talented bloggers as we share decorating vignettes, along with free printables, for you to enjoy all season long!

I love, love, love this time of year. I really can't say it enough. So much beauty to behold and comforts that bring me back to the best memories of childhood: jumping in leaves, going to pick out pumpkins, selecting a Halloween costume, good food, family get-togethers, the scent in the air. There is pretty much nothing that I don't love about fall expect maybe that it is too short. It always seems to go by in a flash. Oh if I could just hold onto it for a bit longer.

Golden Fall Leaves Wreath

Several weeks ago, I shared an easy wreath tutorial over at Jennifer Rizzo's blog. I am reposting it here today! If you are buried in snow, like me right now, you would need to use faux leaves for this project, but it is still easy and festive. You could also change out the acorns and feathers for berries and pinecones to make it Christmasy if you like!

Free Printable Fall Subway Art

I am back again this week with another free printable! If you came by yesterday, you would have seen that I am very much in the holiday spirit with my printable Christmas village. But way back at the beginning of September, I was swooning for fall, and shared a free printable over at Yellow Bliss Road. I am so bad at reposting my guest posts here on my own blog, so this one is a little over due. I figured better late than never, however, since somebody out there might just want to print it off to use this Thanksgiving. 

Outdoor Thanksgiving Table Ideas {Fall Back Patio Tour}

Last month, I shared a guest post over at Yellow Bliss Road with my never-gonna-happen-in-this-lifetime-unless-I-move dream of hosting a Thanksgiving dinner outdoors. It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving will be upon us soon! Today, I am sharing a recipe that is perfect if you are planning a small gathering or are just afraid to cook a whole turkey (like me). This cranberry stuffed turkey roll is actually very easy to make and tastes delicious. In our house, my husband is the only one brave enough to tackle a whole bird, but I can manage a turkey breast no problem.

Rustic Fall Table & Dining Room

Last month, I shared my fall home tour including a peek into my dining room decorated for the season. I am keeping things simple and the same this Thanksgiving. I don't think we will be having Thanksgiving at our house this year (it's kind of nice when you can leave the cooking and the mess to someone else, right? {grin}). But we have been enjoying meals as a family at the table every night, and I am reading the book One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp and trying daily to find thanksgiving in everything around me. Even when the house is a mess, the kids won't sleep, and I have piles of laundry and dishes calling my name. There is still beauty to be found in each and every moment. They are harder to find some days, but I am learning that I can train myself to look for them, by recording them in my own journal of gifts.
